I was a Financial Advisor. Here’s what I learned.

There are no shortages of opinions when it comes to money. Everything I learned about money was the result of being a girl. (Hear me out.) When I grew up, girls weren’t taught anything juicy about managing money. Money was a man’s world. Being young and accommodating (aka stupid), I never questioned this wacky paradigm. Watching my single mother struggle financially, was somehow viewed as normal. She worked her butt off. Multiple jobs. Sacrificed everything so her kids could have a normal life. (There’s that word again). So what is “normal” when it comes to money? I have absolutely no idea. That’s the honest truth. I’ve counseled and advised multi-millionaires who were absolutely miserable. I’ve watched people ignore my advice and throw their life savings into a single “hot” stock. I’ve witnessed billionaires confess they’d trade everything for a day of normal health. (That word again.) I’ve watched young couples with almost no money, hug and kiss in the parking lot after leaving my office. In no way will I ever say money doesn’t matter. It does. Not having money sucks. There are a zillion resources out there to educate yourself about ways to generate income and invest. But there will never be one magic formula to predict how much money you’re going to need to be happy, satisfied, or comfortable. What I do know is this: The single most important investment you can make, is an investment in yourself. Sounds too simplistic, right? But it’s true. Everything begins and ends with you. For me, I needed to step away from all toxic investments. I couldn’t sleep knowing I was supporting companies that were harming the planet. I decided to put my money where my heart and soul is. Now I’m helping others do the same. Mentoring people looking to create their own toxic free wealth. I truly believe we’re at a tipping point. Our choices are actively defining opportunities for future generations. If we choose to ruin the planet, it’s game over. Toxic free choices aren’t just about the future. They’re already here. Why do you think Amazon bought Whole Foods? It wasn’t a whim. People are hungry for toxic free choices. Artificial ingredients are out. Natural, pure ingredients are in. It’s a booming business. And it’s going to keep growing exponentially. Personally, I love knowing I’m helping people find a toxic free path to create their own wealth. Of course, if you’d rather leverage put-options to protect your petroleum-backed cryptocurrency holdings, that’s your call. As I mentioned: I’m a former financial advisor. Now I advise people to eat more vegetables. Protect and support nature. Embrace community. Avoid toxic everything. Take long walks. And slowwww, deep breaths.
